#148 My favorite instruction on getting the internet to work in the hotel room?
"Press some OK buttons and maybe restart."
The plane trip was long, but then, plane trips usually are. The sleeping pills didn't work. I am bulletproof to all the right chemicals, apparently. So the ALIAS disc was a godsend and whittled 6 hours off the flight easy.
We got to the hotel right at the 24 hour mark, so what did we do? Of course, dropped everything and tore into the heart of Shibuya, which is like BLADE RUNNER: THE MALL.
Aesthetic overload and j-pop panty stores kicked our asses, and we went looking for noodles. ate noodles. came home and slept. 10pm to 7am. Jetlag makes you geriatric.
Forgot the name of the neighborhood we went through today, but we had the superfuture map with us and went from shop to shop. It was like SuperSoHo. I'd text kel every time I saw something I knew we'd look at if we were in fact together. goofy shoes, strange dresses. a store called GIRLY PINK. I am a japanese schoolgirl.
Jetlag exhaustion hits in waves; one second you're praying for death and the next you bounce around like a crackbunny.
The Shots: Tokyo party is in an hour, give or take. We're waiting for Dervin to show up, then it's off to shindig. Conf. starts tomorrow at 2, i think.
i bought some CDs. they were a skajillion dollars. You better not suck, new Thee Michelle Gunn Elephant!
