#71 It's rare that I get excited by comics news anymore, but this bit, from WizardWorld Philly last weekend, made me smile:
In September, DC will unveil Showcase Presents, 500 page black and white collections of specific characters from the Silver Age. The first volume will feature Superman, with upcoming volumes featuring Jonah Hex (October), Green Lantern, Metamorpho, and the Justice League.

The only time I was ever able to afford the DC ARCHIVES books was when I worked retail, and even that was a special goddamn event. I was never a big DC pedant-- I won't be rereading these stories, if you know what I mean-- but I love the small sample of DC's silver age stuff that I've read (largely whatever's been reprinted to date, and a brief and expensive obsession with whatever 80-page giants I could find) and that it's coming out affordably has me nine kinds of giddy.
