#43 hiiiii internet!
i have been gone for a while. first, we wrapped the 6 spots for HP that are airing hither and yon. the good news is that we finished like ten or twelve days early (if not more), but the bad news meant that we were pretty much pedalled & metalled through the wrap of the gig. long days and long nights and blah blah blah. the job is done, the work is fine, and i came home exhausted thanksgiving eve.
sorry to new york peeps! i wouldn't have been any fun anyway.
then there was thanksgiving, and that was nice, and then we went into preproduction for a week on HISTORY OF AMERICA and now we are shooting.
Actually shooting--!
We rented the stages at Take2 for two weeks (!!OMG!) because the roof on the new building is made of turds and branches and we couldn't get it fixed in time/heat turned on/greenscreen repaired from leaks from roof made of turds and branches etc. And we've basically moved in and are playing cowboys and astronauts for the next 10 days.
I had figured we needed 10 days to get it in the can; Teddy's guessed 12 but we've got it for 14. Were I to guess, tonight? We'll take all 14.
It's long hours but at least it's shooting-- the longest shoot I've ever had (for the longest piece we've ever done) and after two or three years or however long it's been fucking around, we're finally burning film (er... recording disc sectors? we record straight to harddrive now... there's an HD camera running to tape, too, but still. I am disconcerted.)
Also: CASS #1 is written and is being drawn, the HOTEL book 1 & 2 are also in the can and are on Fabio's desk.
These things, and THUG, were all talked about on Fanboy Radio. That link right there is to an MP3/podcast of the interview.
And Oh! Here's a podcast of me and Ben's keynote at resfest in Chicago, the weekend before i took off for NYC.
Anyway. I've been away, internet, and i'm sorry. Well, not really. Because-- well, see those pictures over there? That's me. Because dressing up like an astronaut, hooking myself into a crane that simulates moon gravity, and then jumping around like a maniac and winging hatchets around a stage is my job.
