#5 Hawt-CHA, cats and kittens, THE FIVE FISTS OF SCIENCE is out, about, in full effect, and ON SALE NOW.
The launch wave of reviews and/or plugs begins to roll in:
• Internet Jesus says FIVE FISTS "comes with my Highest Possible Recommendation. I have read it and it is wonderful." And all we had to do was put his magic body wafer in our mouth!
• Jamie S. Rich, Velveteen Dandy of the Pacific Northwest, flatters with "As the summer begins and the big cinematic blockbusters are already starting to disappoint us, The Five Fists of Science kept me intrigued from page the first to page the last. It's the comic everyone tried to convince me League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was but that I never found that book to be: good ol' pulpy adventure with familiar faces living out the roles we always imagined they could." So, you know. No pressure, right?
• Jog, one of our favorite comics bloggers, chimes in to say-- after first pointing out that FIVE FISTS means TWENTY-FIVE KNUCKLES-- " this is the sort of story that benefits from constant movement, rewards leaning back and simply soaking it all in, without much mind paid to what it all might mean." which was pretty much exactly the kind of yarn we were aiming for-- thank you, sir, for your kind time and attention.
• Lastly, new homeowner and Broken Frontiersman Sam Moyerman does a massive kind of overview, which suffers only from the poor guy trying to transcribe my mile-a-minute phone gibberish. He wraps it all up with this, one of the nicest things anyone's said about me: "He is not just a lover of comics and what can be done with them; he is also a student of them. Instead of simply putting things together and saying it’s a script, Matt works hand in hand with his collaborators. He knows the history of the industry and is an incredibly gifted writer because of it. He knows how to properly put a story together in terms of style and genre and knows what works for each story he writes. As someone who has read both Five Fists of Science and Cassanova (if only Marvel would have allowed me access to his Punisher scripts), I can tell you that they are not to be missed. Both books showcase Fraction’s love of the art form in completely different ways, yet reading them you get the same feeling you do in talking to him. This guy loves
what he’s doing."
• Ego overdrive GO!
There are at least two more pieces coming for sure, one a review of CASANOVA #1 and an interview; the other done with CHUD via phone (again: sorry). Oh, and one more, on another site. But I'm not sure when. Anyway.
The book is out! Go! Buy! Read! Enjoy!
