February solicits are out, including PUNISHER: WAR JOURNAL #4. The cover, at left, only begins to hint at the absurd madness that lies within. Special guest artist Mike Deodato Jr. steps up and reminds everybody how he became Mike Deodato Jr. in the first place, doing what is, for my money, some of the best work of his career.

The issue, as the not-as-glib-as-I'd-submitted-to-Marvel-and-that's-a-good-thing-probably solicitation suggests, is about the funeral for-- well, a very very tall friend. AND Spider-Man shows up.

And yes. That does indeed look as though Dr. Doom is wearing a suit-- and his cloak-- and paying his respects in the pews, doesn't it? WTF? OMG?!?
